We came, we conquered, we Schwabbied! Such an incredibly fun day today shooting the trailer for Shwabby Run! More laughs and good times than we could have imagined.
Go-kart racing in the early AM with the entire Schwabby team, learning to drive the mighty Camaro in the afternoon without crashing or terrifying Rachael Robbins and Chris Lind too much, getting lost shortly thereafter in said Camaro in deliverance country, shooting a 9mm handgun legally for the first time, learning the definition of the phrase “shooting range” is a bit looser in PA as we frolicked in some dude’s backyard shooting at old hubcaps and tree stumps instead of targets, while Kenneth Del Vecchio pondered the legal realities and wonders of shooting pretty much whatever the hell you want in PA, going to Rachael’s show and watching her perform a hilarious stand up comedy show, and watching some hoodlums fight in the bar parking lot = priceless.

On Tuesday, February 19 at 12:45pm, Senator Schumer will join Middletown Mayor Joseph Destefano and Judge Kenneth Kenneth Del Vecchio at the Historic Paramount Theatre (17 South St Middletown, NY 10940) to unveil what appears to be new, exciting history for the 1920′s theater and Orange County, New York. A worldwide renowned film festival may be coming to Middletown—and as early as this spring.
The initial attraction to the Paramount Theater came in January when Judge Del Vecchio was shooting his two most recent movies, CAPTURED HEARTS and SCAVENGER KILLERS, a double-feature “1970s style” pair of serial killer/horror films starting multiple Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees. Both of these films will have their worldwide premieres at the 2013 HIFF. On hand at the press conference will be two of these movies’ stars – horror fan favorites Rachael Robbins (Screaming Dead; An Affirmative Act) and Suzi Lorraine (Solid State; CHILLER TV host) – the films director Dylan Bank (Nightmare), and Nelson Page, the proprietor of the Paramount who introduced Judge Del Vecchio to the theater.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Now in its eighth year, the 2013 Hoboken International Film Festival is being held May 31 to June 6, 2013. Hosted by GILBERT GOTTFRIED, HIFF will showcase numerous film and TV stars, and the world’s most cutting edge films. HIFF continues to grow – in 2012 HIFF had over 1,500 film submissions from all over the world, and accepted just over 90 films (the competition is fierce). Festival attendance has eclipsed 15,000 people in each of the past few years. A star-filled event, HIFF has had several Academy Award and Emmy winners and nominees, and numerous other film and TV stars, at screenings, award ceremonies and special events.

On July 31st, filmmaker Jim Haggerty will host the first annual YELLOW APE FILM FESTIVAL. It will be a festival of short films held in Long Island, NY at the prestigious art-house theater Cinema Arts Centre presided over by a panel of celebrity judges including legendary cult movie actress Beverly Bonner (BASKET CASE), writer and scream queen Suzi Lorraine (WHEN DEATH CALLS), and renowned Long Island filmmakers Glenn Andreiev (VAMPIRE’S EMBRACE) and Keith Crocker (BLITZKRIEG: ESCAPE FROM STALAG 69).
“It’s a four hour event, but we want it to be jam-packed. There will be these great films from newer filmmakers, plus we’re introducing a new short or two that we’ve done, and there will be live comedy, music, and lots of other excitement. I envision it being almost vaudevillian, but of course the main focus is the films and everything else is to widen the audience for the filmmakers.”
